Astronomy Ireland is a 32 county organisation for members of the public who have a fascination with space. Founded in 1990 it quickly grew to be the most popular astronomy society in the world. The society caters especially for beginners and members of the general public.
Tide times in the UK and Ireland vary around the coast depending on the position of the moon, sun and various other influences. Using tide tables generated from tidal prediction data, it is possible to see where and when a high tide will occur on any date at a given location.
The Megalithic Passage Tombs of Newgrange, Knowth, Dowth, Fourknocks, Loughcrew and Tara are located in present-day County Meath in Ireland's Ancient East. The Boyne Valley Mounds at Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth were built around 3,200BC making them older than Stonehenge in England and the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.
