Oak Circles a poem
Oak Circles
Big oak tree,
Your story is old and wise
Told through rings of knowledge and time
Your roots grow deep and encircle life through the generations,
Your branches spread out catching the golden rays of the sun.
Bigger and stronger you grow with each cycle.
Watching upon human change, tragedy and celebration,
Your silence and stillness is your earthly spirit
Sustaining life and protecting all those who dwell under your bough.
When the cold autumn breeze arrives,
I will pick up your golden leaves from the forest floor and remember you
Thank you, old wise tree of the sun.
